Bearded Dragons

LIVE LIZARDS
Nutrition

Bearded dragons require a variety of food. Bearded dragons require about 6-10 crickets( this can also be substituted with roaches, or locusts) a day. You will need to dust these insects 2 times a week with calcium and d3 vitamin powder. Another required food source for bearded dragons is their greens, you can find a list of greens safe for bearded dragons by searching the internet.

Habitat

Bearded dragons are native to Australia, therefore they are a desert species. Bearded dragons need a basking spot of 98-110 degrees during the day.  They also love to bask in the sun, therefore they need a UV light, depending on your enclosure size you will need a 5.0 (20 gallon or less) or 10.0 ( anything larger than a 20 gallon). Bearded dragons also require some sort of climbing decor, they will use this decor to bask and to sleep. Sand is to be used with extreme caution and never with bearded dragons that are younger than 5 months in age. Sand can cause impaction and could possibly be fatal to your dragon. Dragons that are younger than 5 months may use Newspaper, paper towels, or repti-carpet.

Well-Being

Bearded dragons require specific care, if any of these conditions are overlooked it can cause sickness, disease, and stress on your dragon. If any abnormalaties are seen on your dragon contact a reptile vet as soon as possible, catching any sypmtoms at early stages can avoid possible conflicts in the future.
